Striking photo! And a great haiku, too, as always, Endment. Thanks for sharing the pencil poem and Cooper's hawk as well...

I wish I could think of a word that means the same as spectacular, but whispers. That is what I would say about your pictures and your poems.

Oh, the gold! Lovely - both the haiku and the photo - simple, but so profound. A beautiful interlude.

your compelling photo so richly enhances the middle line of the haiku and makes me anxious for Autumn to "spread" south!

Lovely haiku. I got a shiver from it. I got such a strong image with "warblers passing through". It seems like the birds stopped singing about six weeks ago, but they are still here. I just don't notice them as much.

The leaf looks like warm, outstretched arms. Your poetry always makes me pause. Thank you.

the picture of the fallen leaf and the filtered light brought me into your photo. I felt the chill of autumn and winter on its horizon, just like that.

your haiku - perfect for this time, this photo, this day.

i can imagine a flock of warblers exploding from the tree when disturbed, like many gold leaves in the light. beautiful words and image, endment.

are you having trouble with the switch to beta blogger? I am and it's getting me down because today is poetry-thursday. bummer for me.

oh, how i love the fall. we live in a beautiful part of the country but due to our exquisite evergreens we lack the abundant color of east coast autumns. :(

lovely haiku...and your leaf is a perfect illustration!

Hi Endment. I'm really enjoying these poetry posts. I especially loved your Terse Verse as I now reside in genuine Bear Country! How thriftily (is that a word?) you've captured these wonderful creatures.
