Every Path Hath a Puddle

Sun breaks through the mist and rain to illuminate my day.
... like a grain of fire
God plants His undivided power
Buries His thought too vast for worlds
In seed and root and blade and flower...

Endment, I needed this today too, and I thank you for that incandescent lotus, for the frog and the words of Thomas Merton.

BTW-
I've been looking for something "different" to read. I just took Thomas Merton down off the shelf. Thanks for the nudge!

One of my all-time favorite quotes -- I actually just read that quote today where I had used it, along with an ink drawing, to decorate the cover of my handmade art journal! It was a very nice discovery to find the quote along with the beautiful photos here tonight. Thank you!

Such beautiful photos! I'm very fond of frogs, and the flower is exquisite. I'm just heading for bed after a long, long work day. These inspiring words will be with me as I fall asleep. Thank you for this lovely post.

Hi Endment
I needed this today right now, and there it was. The lotus flower with its roots in mud has such a strong inspirational pull on me. The frog! The haiku helped me see through the angry shadows at work. Thank you so much.

I am a Thomas Merton aficianado and these words were perfect for today. Yes, we do have puddles and we do have frogs sometimes, but aren't we glad we do?

Beautiful pics!

Love the low angle on the lily - is it growing in one of your ponds? The color is so soft and subtle. My lilies this year are all brash pinks and purples - miss the soft, quiet colors.
