Oh, these vast, calm, measureless mountain days,
inciting at once to work and rest!
Days in whose light everything seems equally divine,
opening a thousand windows to show us God.
Nevermore, however weary, should one faint by the way
who gains the blessings of one mountain day;
whatever his fate,
long life, short life, stormy or calm, he is rich forever.

--- John Muir

I am going to take a break and hope that Blogger will be working better in a couple of weeks!!!!!

The poem is immensely soothing, and the picture - a place to lose oneself. I hope you are restful during your hiatus.

What a very beautiful poem. Thank you, Endment.

Selfishly I hope that you don't stay away too long. But I also sympathise. Blogger can be endlessly frustrating ....

Endment, the photo is beautiful beyond words, and I love photos taken at this time of day. Muir's poem is just perfect with your photo, and as I look and read, I find myself drifting serenely along with both image and words.

Everytime Blogger has problems, I remind myself never complain about the price of my $90 Typepad site. But hopefully Blogger gets thier act together real soon.

Hi Endment,
Taking a break is so important. I hope you enjoy some quiet, focused, fun time. Sheesh. What did we used to stress about before blogging started? I will miss your posts.

I've been having problems with blogger too. It can be frustrating, and a blogging hiatus can make all the difference :)

I love the quality of light in this photo.

Endment, I have, oh maybe 6 blogs I visit and yours is one of them and I have to say I have missed missed missed your blog posts, even though I don't often comment. I hope you are having a wonderful relaxing and light-filled break, and that you come back soon! I think blogger is working out the kinks of the new beta. at least my beta blogs seem to be working a little better, though I have to admit i haven't taken the time to re-tweak the layouts so they look good, especially Raven's Nest. (note to self: must tweak blog. heheh)

your poetry and photos are always so inspiring. I wish you well in your hiatus. love to you.
