Midnight Madness

While I was posting last night, we were taking pictures and somewhere in the back of my consciousness these words came together...

Midnight Madness
And here we are
two tired people
one reading the manual
the other setting the camera

heads poked awkwardly
through the skylight

setting up
camera
and tripod

All for a picture

of a golden
Winter moon.

I wandered the house a little past midnight last night and found the moon shining through the skylight, illuminating the living room. I thought about photographing it, but didn't. I'm glad you had the same vision and did photograph it. It really is a beautiful sight.

I'm glad the technology didn't overwhelm the muse. Magical photo and inspiring poem.

You are such a gifted writer and artist-- I'm so glad you share these perceptions. And, I'm so glad I've discovered your corner of the blogsphere because your perspective and the things you give attention to interest me so.

I like the photo, but your poem reveals the full picture. It's nice to come here - see and read all your imagery.

Beautiful photos and a wonderful and different take on the media's March Madness. I use a small 5 mg camera but I can never get photos of the moon like the ones you have posted. Just too far away. What kind of lens are you using?

Your photos are always so extraordinary!

I'm a moon child and am always drawn in by the moon.

And reguarly seeing your photos has inspired me to go out in my garden and capture a few images of the daffodils. A few turned out, so I'm planning on painting when "L" gets better and back in school.

Lovely. No matter where I live, I make sure my bedroom is floodedwith the moon light, so that I may bath in it while I sleep. I've turned down apartments because the bedroom was in the wrong place!

I appreciate your words.

I have been in that same situation! Frustrating, isn't it? I finally got some moon shots I loved a couple summers ago. Much warmer, too!

The moon was very photogenic this last full one, wasn't it?
