Yearning for Spring

I have had such a yearning for spring –
For the warm breezes
Blue skies and billowing clouds
Green leaves covering the trees
And a carpet of green under my feet

my husband brought me a basket filled with spring

"The longer I live the more my mind dwells upon the beauty and wonder of the world… I have loved the feel of the grass under my feet, and the sound of the running streams by my side. The hum of the wind in the treetops has always been good music to me, and the face of the fields has often comforted me more than the faces of men.

I am in love with this world...I have tilled its soil, I have gathered its harvest, I have waited upon its seasons, and always have I reaped what I have sown.

I have climbed its mountains, roamed its forests, sailed its waters, crossed its deserts, felt the sting of its frosts, the oppression of its heats, the drench of its rains, the fury of its winds, and always have beauty and joy waited upon my goings and comings."---
John Burroughs

Have you ever considered publishing a book of your photos and poetry? Maybe you already have. Your work is beautiful--all of it! I was scrolling through the past couple weeks and I felt like I was turning the pages of a nice, shiny coffee table book...you know, the kind with really stunning photographs in it. :)

Your own poetry - sensitive imagery accompanied by an exquisite photograph. Cool husband, too :) I look forward also to the quotes in your posts - to find new gems or to explore the familiar. Thank you!

I love how much you love the earth. It is evident in every word you write and every photograph you take. Your appreciation begins in your heart, and you take us with you on these lovely poetic journeys.
