last summer we had a mom and her babies (5, i think!) strolling down the fence top. a singular male seems to be on the prowl day and night. i have already seen him in mid-day heading to the lake.
That's a great photo, there are no native land mammals in New Zealand apart from bats so it was a huge thrill to see squirrels when we went to the UK, and I have never seen a raccoon.

Aw, what a cutie, though I'm always glad to see one on my fence BEFORE my dog goes out in the yard.

We see their muddy footprints on our deck, otherwise, the raccoons here stay pretty much out of sight. So, has spring arrived?
